Based on a series of books, Murder in a Small Town called for a visual identity with a literary, handmade feel.
We created a world of paper textures and dreamy, bleeding watercolor, connecting the graphics to the classic tactile quality of physical books.
To make the look feel authentic, we staged a special shoot with the amazing team at FXWRX, capturing paint strokes, ink drops and bleeds, of which we had the joy of compositing into an organic visual language designed to evoke the tactile feeling of holding a well-worn book in your hands.
