An exciting project where we had the great opportunity to work on the broadcast branding and the main title sequence to kick off the story of the lifeguards of Hawaii's North Shore. Paddling forward to try and capture the excitement and danger of their everyday lives, a special element shoot was developed and executed with our frequent collaborator, Chris Webb and his Team at FXWRX. the resulting elements were weaved through the broadcast package and main title sequence as it evolved with more design elements to results in an ever moving presence, alive and constantly changing like the ocean that they patrol.

SPECIAL SHOOT
The incredible team at FXWRX helped us realize our vision for capturing practical effects in camera, and even further testament to their wizardry to capture the majesty of the open ocean in a 700 gallon tank in a studio in Brooklyn.
This beautiful footage was then used in an array of different forms, across on-air, out of home and social.

Working backwards from our logo resolve footage of the manufactured logo and art directed water effects and enhanced with compositing, our broadcast package internal cards were crops of a digital double to give us better control over the timing needs for standard promo timing.
Furthering our overall foundation water movement and hard surface shapes, we expanding that into the main title sequence with additional design flair of more graphic elements, rotoscoping of footage and seamless transitions from shot to shot.
Finally, and paradoxically one of the first things created , here is a mood edit of raw footage I was inspired to assemble to discover how we could use what we shot. I wanted to create the feeling of being tumbled in the surf, not knowing which way was up and giving complete control over to the ocean. Plus, I love this song. Turn it up!
